Ambassador Armen Yeganian’s Visit to Belém in the Framework of COP30 Activities

Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Federative Republic of Brazil Armen Yeganian, as a member of a delegation headed by the Minister of the Environment of the Republic of Armenia Hambardzum Matevosyan, participated at the UN Climate Change Conference COP30.
 
Minister Matevosyan took part in the ministerial segment of COP30 and a number of high-level events, presenting Armenia's priorities in the field of climate policy. In his speeches, the Minister stressed Armenia's readiness to continue strengthening efforts against climate change, develop a policy in the field of renewable energy sources and expand international partnership.
 
Within the framework of COP30, the Armenian delegation also organized a side event dedicated to the chairmanship of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), to be held in Armenia in 2026. The event was entitled "Delivering on climate and biodiversity action: Leveraging COP30 outcomes in Belém for COP17 in Yerevan."
 
During the summit, Minister Matevosyan and the Armenian delegation held a number of bilateral meetings with high ranking officials from different countries and heads of international organizations. New cooperation opportunities aimed at joint implementation of climate programs, improvement of environmental management, sustainable management of water and forest resources, as well as promotion of green technologies and innovative solutions were discussed.
